The term ‘shadow’ comes from the inspired teachings of Carl Jung and to honour the dark is a deeply Tantric view. From a non-dual perspective, “shadow work” offers a pathway through which our natural state, or true Presence, expresses into the world. The shadow is the sum of unseen, sequestered, rejected, and unconscious aspects of the psyche or the body-mind that obstructs the expression of essence-nature and holds in its center, fragments of our deepest potential.
When seen, held, and integrated, we experience the liberation of life-force energy, which can take the form of intuitive insight, creative inspiration, spiritual allies, etc. All of which is harnessed in the fulfillment of our soul’s purpose and offered in the service of one’s dharma.
We will study shadow and myth through the lens of Jung and astrology with Chris, while Leela will take us through internal and external rituals to move out of the limitations of the thinking-mind, invoking our already perfect wisdom. Following her time studying with Lama Tsultrim Alione, Leela will be guiding us into the Tibetan practice of feeding your demons and through ancient, lineage-based ritual, we can explore the authentic and individual ways in which we create and recreate individually and collectively.
