“Embodiment is a state of listening, being, and responding… it pertains to being present and attentive in and towards the body. It is the home we were born into. We were formed by the clay and fractals of both earth and cosmos, born through the body of our mother, sculpted by the contours and anointed by the waters of her womb and birth canal.” Alexandra Macdonald

SOMA is an immersion in earth, being and belonging. A holding field of miracles. Soma is body; it is both the altar at which we lay our devotion and the unfolding divinity that emanates from the sacred source in motion.

In SOMA, you will deepen into Experiential Anatomy as a means to embody the mystery. Embodied Anatomy isn’t about memorising Latin muscle names or learning how organs function—it’s about returning to the timeless, felt experience of the body from the inside out. Of wind blowing over sand, water smashing into rock, cells opening to life.

This is an invitation to leave the ever expanding library of skeletal, endocrine and muscular systems at the door and to let your own body become the book. SOMA is a voyage into the felt sense of body awakening to body, facilitated by Alexandra Macdonald, Mari Halina Colbert, Sophie Hutchinson and Collette Davis.

You can join SOMA either as a 100 Hour Immersion or as part of the full 300 Hour Advanced Embodied Yoga Facilitator training. You can also sign up for the PSYCHE 100 Hour alongside SOMA.

Enter the Inner Space

Build a Somatic Vocabulary of Awakening

As you build a somatic vocabulary and start to understand the different tones, rhythms and languages of the body, you will come to rely less on planning. Instead, you prepare to offer by entering the inner space you want to guide from—and let the rest unfold.

Images rise from the deep somatic unconscious, insights flow in like tides, movement patterns emerge on their own and the intelligence of the system you're working with begins to show itself—through all these channels and in whatever unique way it wants to speak to you.

Embodied Anatomy invites you into remembrance of your body as a sacred site of wisdom. Transformation, liberation, prayer, artistry, it’s already right here. As Mari Halina Colbert says, your gut already knows how to absorb nourishment and release waste; your lungs, how to alchemise and transform; your heart, dedication and devotion; your spine, the art of ravelling and unravelling; your diaphragms, the intimate conversation between heaven and earth; and your cells, the eternal pulse of being and becoming.

The Cutting Edge of Somatics as Tantric Practice

Explorations in Body and Experiential AnatomY

In SOMA, you sensitise your awareness so that you can recognise, move from and be in relationship with more and more layers of the intelligence that comprises every aspect of your being.

You will explore different embodiment structures, including fascia, spine and diaphragms. You will allow these structures to choreograph your movement and tune into what shifts in your moment to moment experience of reality as you do so.

You will delve into the timecodes of your organ body and see how the space time continuum shifts in relationship to itself as you move from skin, kidneys, gut, lungs, heart, liver, spleen and uterus. You will learn to speak the poetry of each of these landscapes and record your experiences with embodied writing.

You will recognise the intelligence of your own body in myriad life forms, landscapes and vibrations that surround us all, all the time. Life will become a mirror for the ever unfolding miracle of itself.

You will journey through different somatic portals and learn how to map your own pathways through the reproductive, respiratory, endocrine, vascular, nervous, fluid and skeletal systems.

You will return to developmental pathways of infant movement patterns and recognise the shift from being to actively doing through grounding into earth, yielding, pushing, reaching, grasping and pulling.

You will meet the somatic unconscious in practices of Authentic Movement and embodied presence.

You will honour the evolutionary throb of our species and all life on earth by returning to our most primordial, amoebic states and slowly, cell by cell, growing tails, swimming through oceanic timeshifts, climbing ashore and gradually, coming to stand.

Above all, you will build your capacity to consciously inhabit the whole of your experience as a process of embodied becoming.

What is it?

An embodiment immersion that weaves somatics, yoga and non-dual philosophy. You can join for the whole month online (February 2026, £1111 early bird till June 25th) or for the first two weekends in February online plus 9 nights in Granada in September 2026 (£1900).

Who is it for?

Yoga and meditation teachers, movement facilitators, artists, coaches, dancers, therapists, or anyone interested in how to listen deeply and come into relationship with the wisdom of the body through a somatic and non-dual lens.

What will you learn?

For students who are wanting to immerse for their own enjoyment and exploration, you will learn how to dialogue with your body and awaken to the somatic unconscious. You will be taken into profound movement journeys that enliven the imaginal world and awaken your inner artist through the body. To move towards a greater sense of embodied wholeness, intuition, wisdom and trust.

For teachers and facilitators, you will become more fluent in somatics by learning how to embody your own systems and cells. You will become a researcher of your own bodymind and discover how to access deep levels of creativity. You will be taught the art of embodied planning and have lots of opportunity to guide each other and build your confidence in facilitating somatics and free movement. For those who come to Granada, you will receive spot coaching and mentoring. The days will be structured to include practice, circle, embodied planning labs and embodied anatomy lectures.

Cortijo Caseira Granada

We will be staying for 9 nights in a traditional and quiet farmhouse property in the Alpujarra Mountains of Granada. The venue is like a little village with several shared apartments, most with kitchens though you will be provided with glorious and colourful meals. It’s simple, classically Spanish and comfortable with a communal, family feel. We will be blessed by local flora and fauna, mountain vistas, shady tree spots and a community of resident peacocks.

There are 2 large shalas, a mineral water pool and sweet shared living and dining spaces. All your accommodation and food is included and you will get to deeply sink in for your 9 night stay. At this time of year, the temperatures are typically 25 in the day and 13 at night. The mountain on which the farm is perched will be a co-facilitator for us and there will be lots of opportunities to listen to Them and include Them in our explorations.

Andrea Olsen’s work will inform our approaches so the land and the place will play an important role. We will also be weaving in some Authentic Movement practices, along with the somatics, which is informed by Body-Mind Centering and the work of Bonnie Bainbridge-Cohen. This will be highly experiential but there will be plenty of space for creating and musing, for listening and following, relaxing and resting.

To reserve your space please make a payment of £300. We may then ask you to fill in an application form so we have a greater sense of your needs and what you are hoping to get out of the experience.
